Settle in for the good life..........

The only place around central Iowa where you can wash your dog and your car at the same place and then head down the street to relax with friends and have a cool beverage underneath the palm trees. Settle in for the good life in Maxwell, Iowa......

Maxwell is known for it's annual Old Settlers celebration that is celebrated the first weekend in August. Old Settlers has events and activities for people of all ages. Some examples are carnival rides, sanctioned rodeo, truck/tractor pulls, volleyball, slow-pitch softball, tug-of-war, live music from local bands, good eats and drinks all weekend long, and our very popular parade. Maxwell has a long and rich heritage that has been established over the years. Visit our local museum  to witness our collection of collectibles from the past and read more about history as we settled along the railroad. We recently have been accepted as the host of the Story County Freedom Rock and have been establishing a growing popular tourist attraction by adding engraved Veteran's bricks, flags, and beautifying the area around the park. Do not forget to stop by on your bikes if you are taking the Heart of Iowa Bike Trail through our community.

Maxwell is striving to build an even larger town and future. We are a little gem centrally located between Ames, Nevada, Marshalltown, and Des Moines.  We are a short driving distance to these larger cities, but located in the country with the small town pride of our past and future generations.  We fully support our children by taking pride in our community, and  by providing the best education, environment and sustainable needs for our families.
Our parks within the city attract many of our local children as well as adults, by providing a safe environment for play and equipment to entertain them for hours. Our residents utilize these parks for exercise, frisbee golf, sand volleyball, slow-pitch softball, reunions, soccer, baseball, and softball games. Many horse enthusiasts like to test and hone the skills of their horses and themselves at the equestrian area of our west park.

We offer residents many benefits with our Story  Medical Clinic conveniently located right off of main street, along with our other many businesses that can help fulfill the lifestyle you are looking for.
